Oasis - Oasis Wonderwall

Analysing a Music Video (Oasis- Wonderwall)

Settings  in the video are very simple and plain which helps the audience focus and the singer. Within the video there isn't much colour most of the settings are black and white however the guitar turns blue, blue could be associated with cold and depressing which corresponds with the lyrics of the song and the emotions of the song it also add extra emphasis on that instrument. The outfits are not very adventurous, they are very plain and as they are all in black and white the viewers are unable see the colours this puts the main focus on the lyrics of the song. The outfits are very common which helps the audience relate to the band members. The first sign on lyrics to visual representation is where the lead singer sings "and all the roads we have to walk are winding", at this point he is sitting in a chair just as if its unwinding which shows a correlation with the lyrics. The video does not have a narrative side to it; it’s mainly for a performance base; as you can either see the singer singing or other members playing their instruments
Analysing An Advert Poster

The purpose of the poster is to advertise a band however in this case no member of the band  are seen on the poser which give a mysterious feeling to the band. The band name is at the top of the page, for the audience to know that this was a poster about oasis you would have to know the band well which connotes the band is popular. The text is very short, snappy which capture the viewer eye. The poster does not have much information on it which allows the viewer to research and find out more. The poster has a calming mood to it, this is mainly because of the pastel colour used; they are very subtly and dull. Another way the poster gives a calming feeling it is by the image itself as it look like something from a dream world almost perfect.
Analysing a CD cover

The images is repeat twice which makes the image more powerful and the audience are more likely to remember the image. Another reason why i think the images are important is because the band names is small in the left hand coner so its does not stand out the the audiences. the headline at the top does not stand out either as it camouflage into the background as this make the image standout towards the viewer. The out back has the albums song at the back which allowed the the audience to see whats on the CD. The tone of the image  is very subtle and calming which connect to the music on the album.
